The Advanced Water Management Centre (AWMC) is an international centre of excellence in innovative water technology, treatment and management. With over 100 research staff and students based at The University of Queensland, St Lucia Campus, the AWMC has established a substantial niche in the interdisciplinary fields of biological science and chemical process engineering. We are seeking PhD candidates to work on next generation resource recovery from wastewater technologies, which will focus on the use of wastewater grown biomass to generate fertilizer and other agricultural products.  Candidates should have an undergraduate degree in Chemical or Environmental Engineering, B. Biotech (Hons), Microbiology (Hons) or other suitable applied science undergraduate degree.  Priority will be given to domestic applicants (Australian or NZ Citizen or permanent residents), and applicants are encouraged to make initial contact with the project leader Damien Batstone ( providing their CV and academic record.
