Dr Hu Wins National Research Innovation Award

The Advanced Water Management Centre’s Dr Shihu Hu has won the Australian Water Associations National Research Innovation Award.

Dr Hu received the award on Wednesday night at the AWA OzWater'17 Gala Dinner in Sydney.

The project was to investigate and develop next generation technologies that can achieve complete nitrogen removal without using organic carbon, thus enabling maximum bioenergy recovery from wastewater.

The project was funded by the Australian Water Recycling Centre of Excellence and undertaken by Advanced Water Management Centre (AWMC) at The University of Queensland (UQ) together with Queensland Urban Utilities (QUU), Melbourne Water, GHD and Wide Bay Water.
