Electrochemistry at AWMC: an overview of current activities and skills
Abstract: This seminar will be a bird’s eye overview of the AWMC Electrochemistry Capacity Area. This will cover a number of process concepts developed within a number of different AWMC research programs, including electrochemistry-based solutions for wastewater treatment, nutrient recovery and bioremediation (e.g. Ugold); reduction of sewer corrosion; the novel concept of microbial electrosynthesis from both CO2 and organics; the mysterious world of nanowires and their potential bioelectronics applications. The seminar will also discuss some of the key electrochemistry skills being developed, including spectroelectrochemistry for redox analysis of biofilms and advanced modelling.
