Adapting pumping frequency at sewer pressure mains for reduced sulfide loading - Adam Shypanski
Abstract: Improvements in water conservation have resulted in decreased per capita wastewater generation in most Australian catchments. With wastewater flows decreasing, retention times in pump station wetwells have increased. The wetwells are now in fact overdesigned and this presents an opportunity to investigate more optimized pumping strategies with the goal of reducing total dissolved sulfide loading. The presentation will review results from pilot scale trial coupled with modelling results for a small real world catchment.
