2011 Dean's Award for Research Higher Degree Excellence

The following three people from AWMC have been selected as recipients of the Dean's Award for Research Higher Degree Excellence in 2011. This is only awarded to the top 10% of graduating Research Higher Degree students in any year so congratulations to them for their achievements:

Dr Thomas Seviour - Macromolecular associations in aerobic granular sludge derived EPS. Dr Seviour is now working as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Singapore Centre on Environmental Life Sciences Engineering.

Dr Guangming Jiang - Control of Sulfide and Methane Production in Sewers. Dr Jiang is currently working on multiple research areas of sewer processes, greenhouse gas emissions, and novel & odour control technologies at the Advanced Water Management Centre. He is currently collaborating with the Centre of Environmental Toxicology studying the fate of illicit drugs and metabolotes in sewers. He has also been involved in the commercialisation activities of Cloevis technology, managed by UQ's commercialisation arm, Uniquest and jointly sponsored by an American company, US Peroxide.

Dr Huoqing Ge - Temperature Phased Anaerobic Digestion for Organic Solids Stabilization. Dr Ge is now working as Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Advanced Water Management Centre on two projects "High rate aerobic treatment combined with anaerobic digestion and anammox" and "Sewer Corrosion and Odour Research Project (SCORe)".
